Description
Source, evaluate, and lead the execution of new control buyout and non-control, growth equity, and structured capital investments, including diligence, financial modeling review, structuring, negotiation, and closing. Exercise independent judgment on investment matters with material financial and strategic implications for the firm. Drive the creation and articulation of investment theses, risk assessments, upside levers, and underwriting frameworks for potential investments. Prepare and present detailed investment memos and strategic presentations for the Firms Investment Committee, demonstrating an advanced understanding of financial analysis, deal structuring, and capital markets. Oversee and rigorously review all analytical workstreams, including financial models, key performance indicators, and market analyses conducted by Associate and Senior Associate team members. Manage and mentor Associates and Senior Associates, providing guidance, feedback, and oversight to elevate their analytical and professional development. Manage internal and third-party stakeholders, including legal counsel, accounting advisors, financing sources, and commercial consultants, to ensure effective and efficient deal processes. Conduct high-level deal negotiations with sophisticated counterparties, including company founders, senior executives, lenders, and co-investors, and structure complex investment instruments, including convertible preferred equity, governance arrangements, and incentive mechanisms designed to align multiple stakeholder interests. Direct market research, competitive landscaping, and thesis development initiatives to source proprietary and intermediated investment opportunities and evaluate potential add-on acquisitions. Maintain close partnership with portfolio company management teams and the Firms operating partners to monitor investments, drive financial and operational improvements, strengthen financial controls, optimize pricing and cost structures, and execute add-on acquisitions and restructurings. Develop internal analytical tools and leverage technology to enhance investment process efficiency and scalability. Lead board material preparation and, where applicable, participate in board meetings for portfolio companies. Salary
$407,000 - $412,000/year.
Education and Experience Requirements Job Requirements
Requires a Masters degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, or a directly related field plus at least three (3) years of experience at an investment bank, management consulting firm, or private equity firm. Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Advanced financial modeling and valuation techniques, including discounted cash flow analysis, leveraged buyout modeling, and comparable company analysis. Advanced data analytics applied to large-scale datasets to support investment evaluation, underwriting, and portfolio monitoring. Two (2) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Financial and operational due diligence across concurrent transactions, including diligence scoping and coordination of third-party advisors such as legal counsel, accounting firms, and commercial consultants. Cross-functional coordination across legal, financing, tax, and operational workstreams in connection with investment transactions. Preparing and presenting investment memoranda and strategic recommendations to senior leadership or investment committees. One (1) year of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently): Complex deal structuring, including structuring acquisition and financing arrangements across equity, debt, and hybrid instruments such as convertible preferred equity. Portfolio company engagement, including partnering with management teams to professionalize operations, strengthen financial controls, optimize pricing and cost structures, monitor performance, and design and execute value-creation initiatives. Will accept a Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience at an investment bank, management consulting firm, or private equity firm in lieu of a Masters degree plus three (3) years of experience.
