Bridge Engineer

BRIDGE ENGINEER This position involves the performance of technical engineering functions in the design, construction, and repair of bridge structures. Duties will include the functions of program management, bridge design, preparation of construction documents, construction management/inspection, bridge inspections, load ratings and contract/consultant management. Work is performed under general direction of Engineering Supervision and in accordance with established policies. Supervision will be exercised over the work of several assistants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of a Professional Engineering License issued by the New York State Education Department with current certification and four (4) years of acceptable civil engineering experience, two (2) years of which shall be in highway bridge design and one (1) year shall be in a supervisory capacity.

NOTE

Appropriate experience shall be in engineering dealing with design and construction of buildings, highways, bridges, waterworks, harbors, or other infrastructure projects.
